This week Lisa talks to Selina Tomasich, academic, entrepreneur and founder of charity Hair Aid that helps people internationally out of poverty so they can start a micro business in their community cutting hair. Locally, Hair Aid works with leading charities to provide hair cuts to homeless and people in need.

Selina Tomasich is an academic, that has taught business at USC, the University of Queensland and QUT in the area of management, HRM, leadership, entrepreneurship and communications.  

 Selina describes herself as a ‘dedicated nerd’, with a passion for education and learning.

 Selina holds five university qualifications as well as an international Patent for creating online technology.  

 She has created eight apps, written academic books and is published in peer reviewed journals.  

 A Mother of three, a Grandmother of four, and lover of backyard chicken farming she has many talents.  But she can’t cook for quids. Useless in the kitchen she tells me. Lucky for her she has a patient husband who, for the last 39 years, ensures she stays sane and keeps her fed and watered, which leaves her able to play with their four granddaughters on demand.  

 Today Selina is here to share the journey of Hair Aid – an Australian based charity that is doing amazing things both internationally and right here in our own communities.  Selina is the Founder and CEO of Hair Aid, please make her welcome.
